How Chef Sean Came To Be

Because of my love for food I decided to attend culinary school at UVU. While attending I interned at a local restaurant as a chef instructor teaching cooking classes to children ages 6-12. One thing was obvious: both boys and girls enjoyed cooking. I decided to pursue a more advanced cookbook for kids featuring the popular recipes we did in class. After researching the market and finding dozens children’s cookbooks, my idea has evolved from kids cookbook to recipes incorporated into a picture book for young readers ages 6-8. The main character Chef Sean goes from being pretty average at what the other kids seem to be good at, to finding his own niche in the culinary world.

A parent and child should be able to read Chef Sean together and feel comfortable attempting the recipes. I feel that every child should be able to make something they will enjoy eating as well as experience the feeling that comes with knowing "I made this!”
